PSL FORUM ON PALESTINE: BEHIND THE CRISIS
Stop Israeli Aggression! End the Occupation Now!
7:30 pm
1800 Argyle Ave, #400
Click here for map and driving directions
Join the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition and member group Party for Socialism and Liberation as we discuss the crisis in Palestine caused by the recent Israeli invasion of Gaza. The Palestinian population of Gaza, one of the poorest and most densely populated areas of the world, was already suffering severe shortages of food, medicine and other necessities due to Israel's blockade of Gaza and the cut-off of international aid to the West Bank and Gaza, in effect since January 2006. The new Israeli assault has resulted in the cut-off of power, water and food supplies to most of the people in Gaza. The situation constitutes a deliberately created humanitarian disaster, and now the U.S.-backed Israeli government is "intensifying" its brutal assault on the Palestinians.
Hear an anti-imperialist analysis of the situation in Palestine and discuss the role Israel plays in forwarding U.S. domination in the region. There will be speakers, political discussion and refreshments.
Featuring:
- Richard Becker, Party for Socialism and Liberation leader from San Francisco; Middle East expert
- Muna Coobtee, Free Palestine Alliance

All progressives are encouraged to join pro-immigrant organizations, including the Party for Socialism and Liberation, at a counter demonstration against the racist, anti-immigrant Minuteman Project and other neo-fascist groups. Minutemen members and supporters will be marching through Hollywood that day in a so-called "United States of America March." They claim to be celebrating the people of the United States, including "legal immigrants," but their underlying racism against all immigrants is unmistakable. This is the culmination of a week of anti-immigrant actions by the Minutemen. They are marching in July 4 parades in Pacific Palisades and Lake Forest before their march in Hollywood. Join us this Saturday to expose them as the racists they really are.
These groups are directly aligned with white supremacist and Nazi organizations. Their rallies only target Latino immigrants. They praise "the rule of law" while completely ignoring the underlying causes for migrationimperialist wars and racist U.S. economic policies.
The PSL and many others will gather at the corner of Hollywood and Argyle to protest the racist Minutemen and say "No Human Being is Illegal!" We will also pass out informational flyers urging people to join the counter protest and oppose anti-immigrant racism and bigotry. Bring banners and signs to show your support for immigrant rights.
Now is the time for everyone to stand up for full equality, legalization and amnesty for undocumented workers. No to racism and the Minutemen! No to a guest worker program! The struggle for justice has no borders!

Washington, D.C., will be the scene of an important day of action to highlight the ongoing struggle for justice against U.S.-sponsored terrorism in Cuba and Latin America.
Thirty years after the car-bombing assassination of Orlando Letelier (former Chilean Foreign Affairs Minister under Salvador Allende) and U.S. activist Ronnie Moffit on Washingtons Embassy Row, and 30 years after the mid-air bombing of the Cubana plane that killed 73 peopleboth crimes perpetrated by U.S.-backed terroristsjustice for the victims of terrorism is still out of reach.
Successive U.S. administrations, directly responsible for training and arming the assassins Luis Posada Carriles and Orlando Bosch, have done everything to cover up the U.S. role in these deadly terrorist attacks.
Washingtons policy is even more egregious by the wrongful imprisonment of five Cuban anti-terrorists since their FBI arrest eight years ago, on Sept. 12, 1998. The crime of the Cuban Five was working to stop terrorist attacks on their country by right-wing paramilitary groups based in south Florida.
The U.S. government harbors terrorists while prosecuting and imprisoning the Cuban Five anti- terroristsGerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González and René González.
Sept. 23 is part of the worldwide Days of Action from Sept. 12Oct. 6.
The Washington, D.C., event is sponsored by the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five, the National Lawyers Guild, the Alianza Martiana, and the National Network on Cuba.
Organizations and individuals are urged to join this important effort. Contact the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five at: 415-821-6545, or email: freethefive@freethefive.org
